I'm Diab — a full stack engineer based in Cairo, Egypt, with 5+ years building software end to end, backend-heavy.
I started at Mindeavors across a wide stack — Node, React, Vue, Laravel, .NET — building an e-learning platform and a bankruptcy digitisation project. Real-time features, payment integrations, CI/CD, AWS deployments, backoffice frontend. Working across that range built instinct for when to reach for the right tool and when to adapt to what the client needs.
At Contact Financial Holding I narrowed in. I refactored a legacy payment cycle end to end: the integration flow, the codebase structure, the database. Then built an observability stack from scratch — Prometheus, Grafana, Loki — from the apps to staging, and made the cost case to management myself.
At HAD the platforms were feature-rich — stories, real-time meetings, chat, marketing event tracking. The codebases were heavily coupled NestJS services. I untangled them: separated concerns, cleaned the data flow, and made them extensible without breaking what existed.
At VOIS I'm migrating Oracle and APEX systems into NestJS, following Clean Architecture and DDD, running KT sessions, and building POCs for the client. Each move has pushed me closer to the decisions that matter — architecture, cost, delivery.
I write here about what I learn. Mostly backend and architecture, but the occasional frontend decision too.
